"These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among the brethren." (Proverbs 6: 16-19) |
Was our nation founded on faith in God? Consider the witness of the Supreme Court Building, completed in 1932. Today, as the Justices enter the eastern portal of the building, they pass beneath a huge relief sculpture. The focal point of that sculpture is the image of Moses, holding the Ten Commandments. Hermon MacNeil, the architect chosen for designing this portal, ensured that our highest court in the land was yet another visible example of our nation's godly heritage. Just 40 years earlier, the Supreme Court determined, "Religion, morality, and knowledge are necessary to good government, the preservation of liberty, and the happiness of mankind." |

information from your existing web site easily? If you answered no to
either question visit The Lord's Way. This new service allows you to create a web

simply completing online forms. The service is designed for any

the inner-workings of the Internet. Your new site will be packed with
information about your congregation. Visit us and take a tour! I would be interested in any preacher(s)'s libraries that are not in use. I promise to put any and all books to good use, either by myself, or other preachers or preaching students. Please don't let them sit in boxes out in the garage. I would gladly pay for postage, and if you require, I may be able to purchase them from you. Please call or email, Tim Smith at: (903) 935-7448; EMAIL.

Numerous Christian Resources Tony Horton cnlglfg.com | During my early years, I grew up closely associated with an uncle who was a gospel preacher. He was a remarkable man, one that you will seldom meet the likes of. He had a very limited education (7th or 8th grade, I believe) yet he was as knowledgeable of the Bible as any man I have ever known. Not only in what it said, but what it meant. |
Raymond Elliott I was a student at Alabama Christian College (now Faulkner University) in Montgomery, Alabama during the 1950s. I remember very well how excited I was to be taking a course called "The Restoration Movement" taught by Dr. Furman Kearley. It was a genuine thrill to study in detail how men like Thomas and Alexander Campbell, Walter Scott, Barton W. Stone and a host of others who were intent on going back to the Bible for guidance in matter religiously. Our textbook was "The Search For The Ancient Order" written by brother Earl West. Of course it was sad to learn of the division among brethren over unscriptural doctrines and practices that invaded the fellowship of those of like precious faith. One problem that faced brethren in that period of time related to how far one could go in ‘fellowshipping’ our denominational friends. There was a segment of our brotherhood that began to extend fellowship to all simply because of their common belief in Jesus Christ as being the Son of God. To them, doctrine and the various modes of congregational worship were not to be a hindrance to ‘open fellowship’. Frankly, I never thought that this would be a problem facing the church of the Lord during my preaching experience. But, I was wrong. Here we are dealing with the same issues and problems the church dealt with a hundred or so years ago. |

The future of the church rests on our ability to train effective leaders. There will
always be a need for leaders to rise to the occasion as servants, Bible class teachers, ministers, deacons, and elders. Believing that such training should begin at an early age, Leadership Training for Christ provides an opportunity for youngsters, beginning in the third grade, to recognize and develop leadership skills.
