As global turmoil, war in Iraq, terrorists throughout the nations, etc. presents a crisis in the world, so do the invaders and followers of Satan continue to disrupt and destroy congregatiion after congregation within the Lord's church. This is occurring with increased momentum. Prior to 15-20 years ago, I could have worshipped with any congregation in this county and maintained a clear conscience. I now know of at least four that I would not, could not, associate with. What a horrible recognition! |

The standard of what is acceptable in religion for many is whether it satisfies the individual. Many "shop" for a religion that meets their personal preferences, treating the Scriptures as a saladbar-- picking things they like and passing over others. Many declare satisfaction with the course they have chosen in religion without ever considering the question, "Is God satisfied with my religion?" The whole conclusion is not, serve God as you please, but "Fear God and keep His commandments" (Eccl. 12:13). Our purpose in daily activities and in worship should be to strive to please God. Those who truly seek to serve God will not be satisfied until they do this. We must be willing to test our practices and beliefs to see if they agree with the Scriptures. "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves" (2Cor. 13:5). |

Most people recognize the need for authority in our lives. That's why we have policemen, sheriffs, and government in general. Laws are in place to keep things orderly so we may live peaceably and harmoniously in the world today. |
"It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in
defense of our country in wars far away. The imagination
plays a trick. We see these soldiers in our mind as old
and wise. We see them as something like the Founding
Fathers, grave and gray-haired. But most of them were
boys when they died, they gave up two lives -- the one
they were living and the one they would have lived. When
they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands and
fathers and grandfathers. They gave up their chance to be
revered old men. They gave up everything for their
county, for us. All we can do is remember." |

Does your congregation have a web site? Can you add, update and delete
information from your existing web site easily? If you answered no to
either question visit The Lord's Way. This new service allows you to create a web
site for your congregation and update it yourself whenever you want by
simply completing online forms. The service is designed for any
congregation that wants a web site that contains current, updated and fresh
information but does not want to invest the time and money in learning about
the inner-workings of the Internet. Your new site will be packed with
information about your congregation. Visit us and take a tour! I would be interested in any preacher(s)'s libraries that are not in use. I promise to put any and all books to good use, either by myself, or other preachers or preaching students. Please don't let them sit in boxes out in the garage. I would gladly pay for postage, and if you require, I may be able to purchase them from you. Please call or email, Tim Smith at: (903) 935-7448; EMAIL.

"We at the French's Company wish to put an end to statements that our product
is manufactured in France. There is no relationship, nor has there ever been
a relationship, between our mustard and the country of France. Indeed, our
mustard is manufactured in Rochester, NY. The only thing we have in common
is that we are both yellow." |

I am currently working on a project, building a new and complete directory of churches of Christ in the U.S.A. which have some type of web presence. It is an extremely arduous task. I am presently working on the "N" states (working alphabetically). I suspect that it will take me much of the rest of this year to complete. Please do not send me any links ahead of what I have already done since I have no way of storing them in any decent order. However, I hope you will visit the work that I have done and if you know of any congregation's website that I do not have listed in any of the states that are now completed, I would appreciate receiving their URL.
Directory The main theme of today's ezine is concerning the crisis facing the Lord's church. And I think what bothers me most is that most seem not to be bothered. I fear that this is going to send a lot of people to Hell. I know that I am nothing in God's sight, but I plan to do whatever I can to help stem this mad rush into apostasy. I had one preacher recently tell me, although he does not agree with the liberalism, that he felt people should not get too involved in fighting it. I don't plan to get too involved, only just as much as I can. |

Here is a link to a courtroom dialogue between a judge and an abortion doctor. There are some very graphically descriptive phrases but it is some very important information that all Christians should know and always keep in mind when voting, for the stand taken by any politician on this matter. |

A young Pig was shut up in a fold-yard with a Goat and a Sheep. On one occasion when the shepherd laid hold of him, he grunted and squeaked and resisted violently. The Sheep and the Goat complained of his distressing cries, saying, "He often handles us, and we do not cry out." To this the Pig replied, "Your handling and mine are very different things. He catches you only for your wool, or your milk, but he lays hold on me for my very life."

Household of Faith Ezine is published every two weeks beginning in September, 2001. Materials in this are gleaned and compiled by the editor, Joel Hendon. Our purpose is to help present items of interest to New Testament Christians, to furnish a "meeting" place for Christians to help other Christians by doing business with them and for other such interaction.(...let us do good unto all men, especially unto them that are of the household of faith. Gal 6: 10). To submit any messages, articles, ads, announcements or comments, Click Here.
Policies & Charges: Subscription to this ezine is free and may be started simply by requesting it via email to the above address. All members and congregations of the New Testament church of our Lord may submit announcements which will be published free. Classified advertisements, likewise, will be published free until further notice. If the volume of ads becomes overwhelming, a small charge may become necessary. Under no circumstances will charges be made without notification to subscribers. We reserve the right to decline to publish any article, announcement, ads, or other such materials for any reason such as limited space, anything considered undesirable from a Christian's point of view, or any other reason. It is very likely that we will receive many more articles than we will be able to run. All submissions should be kept as concise as practical.
