Following the resignation some 8 months ago of the founder and leader of the International Churches Of Christ, Kip McKean, the organization is undergoing massive internal difficulties. "Our movement is no longer moving." is a statement from Henry Kriete, one of the evangelists and leaders of the London Church Of Christ (ICC) in his open letter "Honest To God" to the organization worldwide.

I hope that you will read thoroughly and carefully, the links I have listed below. Some are a bit lengthy but you need to know what they are saying. Much of what we have been saying about them since their inception. But here is another segment taken from Kriete's open letter;

FOUR SYSTEMIC EVILS: If movements begin in caves and die in cathedrals, here are the four main Pillars in our cathedral that must be denounced and demolished:

Our corrupted hierarchy
Our obsession with numbers
Our shameful arrogance (the cause/by-product of 1 and 2)
Our seduction by mammon

There is seemingly an endless source of writings and materials concerning the International Churches of Christ on the internet. They are now stating that over a quarter million of their followers have "fallen away" and I believe that the majority of those have written letters as to why they left, and they have all been put on the internet. That, of course is one of my exaggerations, but those that have done this have done good. If so many have left something so quickly and most feel obligated to expose the wrongdoings of the cult, it should certainly make others conscious of the error involved.

Here I am placing a link to one of those letters which impressed me somewhat. When this man made it known that he was leaving the movement, they asked him to give them scriptural reasons for his decisions, and this is his response to them. Just click on the title of this block.

I suspect that most, if not all of you, have at least heard of Truth For The World mission work that is overseen by the elders of the Duluth, Georgia congregation of the church of Christ. But I wonder how many really know the extent and value of this great work being done by this group of outstanding Christians.

There are numerous good works being done by various congregations of the Lord's body, but this work is practical, observable, effective and creditable. Or any other desirable adjective you might care to bestow upon it. Following is a portion of information from their own homepage.

Truth for the World is under the oversight of the Duluth church of Christ, 3239 Highway 120, Duluth, Georgia 30096. The work is also supported by other churches of Christ throughout the United States, and by individual members of the churches of Christ.

There is never any solicitation of money from radio and television audiences, or from those to whom we send Bible correspondence courses and other teaching materials. This mission work is funded by the churches of Christ as a means of carrying out the commission of Jesus Christ to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Since 1992, hundreds have responded to the gospel through the efforts of Truth for the World. Several congregations have been established through the influence of this global mission effort.

At the present time, the radio and television programs are on every continent with a potential audience of billions. The literature, including Bible correspondence courses, and a simple English teaching paper, is being sent into more than 160 nations. Over six million pieces of literature have been sent to precious souls since the early part of 1992, when Truth for the World had its beginning. The Bear Valley Bible Institute, Scottsboro Extension (BVBISE) is half-way through it's second year of operation under the oversight of the elders of the Broad Street Church of Christ in Scottsboro, Alabama. The school is an extension of the BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE of DENVER. 40 courses (and eight out-of-class mini-courses) completed over a four-year period lead to the Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree. The Associates Degree may be earned in half that time.

One course is taught each month (except July and December) in two all-day Saturday sessions along with outside assignments. The school is TUITION FREE. The only costs to the student are for required texts & materials, and a $5 fee each Saturday to help cover the teacher's expenses. The teachers are academically well-qualified and experienced gospel preachers who know and love the Bible as the verbally inspired and authoritative word of God, and who volunteer their time and work as a labor of love.

BVBISE is committed to training sound and able Bible teachers (men and women), and faithful gospel preachers for service in the kingdom of Christ. Once upon a time a Wolf resolved to disguise his appearance in order to secure food more easily. Encased in the skin of a sheep, he pastured with the flock deceiving the shepherd by his costume. In the evening he was shut up by the shepherd in the fold; the gate was closed, and the entrance made thoroughly secure.
