History has shown us (although no one wants to look) that great nations have fallen throughout the ages as they become evil and lose all sense of morality. Aside from giving us His Son who then gave Himself that we might gain eternal life, perhaps the greatest gift God has given man is this great nation that we are now so fortunate to live in. But, as in times past, we have bungled it. |

Brethren, I believe that this man is 100% correct as to his assessment of the United Nations. I am not trying to turn this publication into a political one, but things of this nature, many of them, can have a profound effect upon the future of the Lord's kingdom. We need to become involved in those political matters wherein the freedom and growth of the church is endangered....Joel

On the way to Gaza, the Ethiopian eunuch, or the treasurer, as we will refer to him in this lesson, found a far greater treasure than any that he guarded for the queen of Ethiopia. He found the "pearl of great price" and hid it securely in his heart (Matthew 13: 46; Psalms 119: 11). Although the word "heart" only appears once within the context of the treasurer's conversion (Acts 8: 37), it is at the center of all that transpired within the inspired text. His good heart was the reason why he was reading the inspired record of Isaiah as he bumped along the dusty road from Jerusalem to Gaza, the reason why he asked Philip to come up and talk with him, and the reason why he asked to be baptized as soon as he saw a body of water sufficient for that purpose. I believe that you will agree that this man's heart is worthy studying. An Honest Heart...Part 1 of 4 |

There's a rising chorus of anger across the land in response to three U.S. Supreme Court decisions within a week that strip the people of their power, eviscerate the rule of law and illegitimately empower nine unaccountable high priests in black robes. In the first case, in a 5-4 ruling, the justices found the 14th Amendment's equal-protection clause really doesn't mean what it says. They found there is a compelling state interest to discriminate on the basis of race to promote a more diverse society. The next blockbuster ruling was the 6-3 vote determining, for all intents and purposes, that the Constitution contains a hidden right to practice homosexual sex. The third ruling that demonstrates the hyper-activism of the Supreme Court majority was a much-less-noticed 5-4 decision to overturn a California law and free hundreds of confessed and convicted child molesters in California. |

It would be well if everyone would give a run at publishing a brotherhood ezine for a few months..seriously. Without much tongue-in-cheek, I can tell you that it teaches you patience. It forces you to do more studying, which should not have to be forced upon us. In the past couple of years, I have become much more serious minded, I think. I'm not sure if that is the fault of the ezine, or of my age. One final commercial: If you have any interest whatsoever in throwing off the shackles of cable TV and going to a dish, click through on that dish banner above and check this company out. They will give you the best deal I have heard of anywhere. And they are all over. |

The Federal Trade Commission has created a National No Call Registry and has issued a warning to all telemarketers that they will be held accountable for calling anyone who registers for their phone number to be on the list, or face stiff penalties. That is one of the greatest moves they have ever made, I believe. Of course if you are lonely and just love to get those calls, don't register with them. It is free to register though and I have already done so. Just click on that link back there register, snickering all the time. |

"If you believe what you like in the
gospel, and reject what you don't like, it is not the gospel you
believe, but yourself." --St. Augustine ------------------------- "God cannot work in the lives of the self-righteous, for they have made themselves god of their own self-centered world." May God bless his faithful children, wherever they are. | ![]() |
A Muleteer set forth on a journey, driving before him an Ass and a Mule, both well laden. The Ass, as long as he traveled along the plain, carried his load with ease, but when he began to ascend the steep path of the mountain, felt his load to be more than he could bear. He entreated his companion to relieve him of a small portion, that he might carry home the rest; but the Mule paid no attention to the request. The Ass shortly afterwards fell down dead under his burden. Not knowing what else to do in so wild a region, the Muleteer placed upon the Mule the load carried by the Ass in addition to his own, and at the top of all placed the hide of the Ass, after he had skinned him. The Mule, groaning beneath his heavy burden, said to himself: "I am treated according to my deserts. If I had only been willing to assist the Ass a little in his need, I should not now be bearing, together with his burden, himself as well."
